BEAD SOUP CREATIONS

Sorry for posting a day late, but once again was in the hospital.  I was unable to originally post a pic of the soup I received because I was having problems with Chrome and my blog and was unable to access my blog. First, here is a pic of the soup I sent:

I, unfortunately couldn't seem to come up with anything for the ribbons but I did make three items.

1) Using the purple beads, focal and very beautiful clasp along with some of my own beads, (I wanted to pick beads that complimented her beads but didn't not take away from them. I hope I succeeded.) This is what I created.

2)  I also made a bracelet using some of the flower beads she send along with some flat flower beads and leaves from my own stash.

3)  She sent a few paper beads she had made and was hoping I would try to use them.  I  really didn't know what kind of beads you would use with paper beads so I made a simple bracelet using a few seed beads as spacers.  (the paper beads  are really very cute!)  Nice work Terry!

Black Matte Necklace

When I saw these black beads with the matte finish, I just had to have them.  I think they make the piece more sophisticated and elegant.


This is the perfect necklace to go with that little black dress!  I also made earrings to match.

Green Ice Necklace

This necklace reminds me of two totally different things.


#1)  The solid green beads remind me of frozen Kool-Aid, lol.  They have an "icy" look to them.  That makes this necklace great for summer.


#2)  The large white and green beads remind me of some candy my granny always had on hand.  It was a nougat like candy with jelly-like blobs inside.  (It tastes much better than it sounds!)  You can buy this candy, usually in the bulk bins at the grocery store but the jelly blobs are usually red and orange in color.  Most of all, reminds me of my granny.  (I miss her soooooo much!)

Ice Cubes and Frost

I call this necklace Ice Cubes and Frost because the cube beads remind me of ice cubes and the other beads have a frosty look to them.  This necklace looks like it could almost cool you down on a hot summer day.

To make this necklace I used clear cube beads with a blue swirl inside, light blue cat's eye beads and blue quartz beads and a silver toggle clasp.

Multi-strand Blue Vine Necklace

I am not quite sure if I'm going to keep this necklace the way it is.  The two shorter strands look good together but I'm not so sure about the longest one.  Anyone that wants to give their opinion, please do.

                        

The shortest strand was made with blue tear drop beads, white flower beads, blue flower beads and blue seed beads and is 16" in length.
The middle strand was made using blue bugle beads and blue seed beads and is 20" in length.
The longest strand was made using silver branch links, blue window pane beads and blue spacer beads and is 24" in length.
The necklace has a silver toggle clasp.

Dream Catcher Necklace

Originally, this started out to be a pair of earrings.  After making a "guesstament" on how much of the gold lame thread I would need, I knew I had enough for one pair of earrings, no mistakes.  Well, being that the title of this post is "Dream Catcher Necklace", you can probably figure it out...............the "no mistakes" did not happen, lol.  So, I added a chain and so was born, "The Dream Catcher Necklace".

Since it is half passed midnight and I am pretty tired, this item will probably not be available at Nutkitten's Handcrafted Jewelry until tomorrow afternoon, Sunday 06/05/2011.   Oops, after midnight so I guess, technically, that would be today, lol.

Vampire Blog Hop

For the Vampire Blog hop, I made 3 things.  The first is a necklace with dyed turquoise.  One of them actually looks like a real heart, lol.  It has Tibetian Silver spacer beads and black glass beads.

This next necklace is red and black, of course, lol.  made with black glass beads, red seed beads and small red drop beads.

This next item didn't turn out anything like I wanted it too.  At first it was going to be a pair of earrings but, I gave up so, it is a cell phone dangle or to hand on teens binder or whatever.

The wire is actually black.  Why it looks blue in the pic, I have no idea!

Lemon Drop - Last of the accidental citrus theme!

Here's the lemon drop necklace.  I have had the yellow and white nugget beads for quite sometime but could never seem to find anything to go with them.  So.......I decided to try painting some wood beads since I have tons of them!  I think they turned out pretty good and match perfectly.

I tried painting some other wood beads different colors to see how they would turn out.  The yellow ones used for the Lemon Drop Necklace, I used a non glossy finish so they would have a matte appearance.  These other beads, I gave a glossy finish.  A couple of them, I even added some fingernail decals, lol.  Actually, they look kind of like easter eggs!!!!!

Citrus

Have a new necklace and bracelet.  By accident, they both are on a citrus theme.  The Twist of Lime necklace and the Orange Grove bracelet.  I also completed a necklace this morning called the Lemon Drop necklace, lol. I don't have pics of that one yet, so that will have to wait.

The Twist of Lime necklace consists of three strands, twisted of course, in shades of green.  It  has green, silver streaked, glass beads, round and rondelle crystals and seed beads, all in shades of green.

The Orange Grove bracelet has some glass beads with hand painted orange flowers, orange rondelle spacer beads, orange barrel beads and green bi-cone crystals with a copper lobster claw clasp.

New Bracelet and Jewelry Set

This bracelet is one of my favorites so far.  It's a bit heavy but not TOO heavy.  It is made with Millefiori barbell beads. chain and some charms, a red glass bead leaf, a Mother of Pearl disk bead and a house charm.

Red Rose Pendant

This pendant was inspired from a design by Zyta Rogowska.  I Think this is my first design that does not use at least ONE bead or stone.  Hope you like it.

Golden Sands

Walked into one of my fave discount stores and there was a bin full of $1 beads.  Found these brown goldstone beads and the small metal rust colored beads.  Used some of those beads along with some copper spacers, some twisted bugle beads and a copper toggle clasp and here it is!

4 Necklaces added to my showroom today!

Along with the 5 new pair of earrings, I also added 4 new necklaces today.  The first two are floating type necklaces.  The first is called "Colors of the Sea" which consists of assorted gemstone and glass beads in the colors of the sea.  The second is called "Floating Amber" which features some beautiful translucent amber beads.

The next necklace I call "Gothic Butterfly".  This is a chunky 'lariat style' necklace with large gun metal chain, 5 filigree butterflies, large crystals with filigree bead caps, black pearl type glass beads and a black agate gemstone dangle.

The final necklace is called "Old-Fashioned Indian".  I call it old fashioned because this type of necklace was popular during the '70s.  Some of you may remember them well.  The necklace is made out of silver rose beads, turquoise seed beads and lots and lots of safety pins.  The focal of the necklace resembles an Indian headdress.

Been so busy working on my jewelry photos, not much time to do much jewelry making!  But, two new necklaces....

This first one I call red wedding.  The pearlized white rose beads remind me of weddings and, well, the red is pretty much self explanatory, lol

This next one I call Splattered, looks like it's been splattered with paint!

Dinner and Romance

This is my first time using ribbon in jewelry making.  I am not too sure if I like it or not.  I think it might look a little too much like gift wrapping.  Burgundy always reminds me of a romantic glass of wine which is why I called this  piece Dinner and Romance.

The Defiant Necklace

When I first posted the Amethyst in Pears necklace, I had mentioned having to restring it 3 times.  Well I wanted to give a little history on the making of this necklace.

When I pictured this necklace I saw the drop beads laying flat with a nice flow, just below the collar bones.  Well, it seemed that I kept crimping the beads just a little too tight so that some of them kept "popping up" instead of laying flat.  On the third restring, I thought for sure I had it right.  I was off by about 1/16 th of an inch.  Just one single bead kept popping up!  GRRRRR!  Well, I thought maybe I could stretch the necklace just a wee bit and then the bead would lay flat.

NOTE:  Tiger's Tail beading wire DOES NOT stretch!  Beads, however, DO scatter in every possible direction and they roll and roll and roll.....where they stop.....you may never know!  LOL

Finally, the fourth restring was a success!

Easter Jewelry

Went to WalMart last night and saw some pastel pink glass pearl beads and some cute cube lampwork beads with little pink flowers and Easter popped into my head.  So, here is what I made for Easter.

First is a necklace.  This was  handcrafted using the pastel pink glass pearl beads and some other of the same type of pearl beads that already had but in a darker, almost hot pink.  This necklace is kind of like two necklaces in one.

And, here are the Easter earrings which use the pastel pink beads and the cube lampwork beads.

Hmmm....think i need to take some more pics of the earrings.  These don't show the lampwork beads too well.
